Recently, I found that many people and
friends don’t know much about ceramics, nor do they know the classification of
ceramics. Today, the editor of the tableware supplier will take you to
understand.
1. What is ceramic
Traditionally, the concept of ceramics
refers to all the hard materials formed by using clay as the main raw material
and other natural mineral raw materials after proper proportioning, crushing,
molding, and a series of physical and chemical reactions under high-temperature
baking. Common daily-use ceramics, architectural ceramics and electric
porcelain are also called traditional ceramics. With the development of science
and technology and the progress of social civilization, people's requirements
for ceramic products are getting higher and higher. The broad concept of
ceramics is already inorganic non-metal solid materials and products
manufactured by ceramic production methods.
2. Classification:
①According to the concept and use of
ceramics: ordinary ceramics and special ceramics (the details are not
introduced here)
②Classification according to the physical
properties of the green body: It is a more scientific classification method
according to the essence of the ceramic product green body, that is, the
structure of the green body and the corresponding basic physical properties.
This classification method divides all ceramic
products into two categories: pottery and porcelain according to the different
structures of the ceramic blanks and the density of the marked blanks.
Pottery is a kind of ceramic product with a
loose body structure and poor density. It usually has a certain water
absorption rate, a rough and matt section, no translucency, and a rough
knocking sound;
The porcelain body is compact, basically
non-absorbent, has a certain degree of translucency, and the section is
stone-like or shell-like.
